Clinopodium calamintha (Lesser calamint)

In the periode end August – September many Brassy mining bee (Lasioglossum morio) males are active around the bee hotels and forage on the Lesser calamint (Clinopodium calamintha) that grows just below them.

The amount of males is stricking because there aren’t any females. The site of Albert Wilde makes reference to this phenomenon. I haven’t been able to find any other literature on this subject.
