A new guest on the bee hotel, a Blood bee (Sphecodes sp.) [1,2] male but unclear which species.

The name Blood bee refers to the red color on the abdomen plates.

Sphecodes sp. ♂︎

He was walking around the Ridge-saddle carpenter bees and was interested in the same nest cells sizes. Without flying he worked his way across the bee hotel surface, visiting numerous holes and frequently taking a pause to observe the outside world.
