Finally a Small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) payed the garden a visit again, only one. Although this beautifull small butterfly is common in the Netherlands it does not frequent the garden very often.
During the yearly garden butterfly count this year, this butterfly was severely less counted then in previous years. Probably the drought 2018 caused the caterpillars to die.
