This common bumblebee, the Red tailed bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius) [1] is common the Netherlands and a yearly returning, regular visitor of the garden, albeit in small numbers of one or some specimen at a time.
Here it is foraging on Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus).
