These days this shiny little wasp has found a place to hang around in the bee hotel. It is a male diggerwasp Crabro peltarius.

The male wasp uses the bee hotel as resting and hiding place in case of bad weather. The females do not visit bee hotels. 
On this day two males were active visiting numerous holes and sometimes lazily hung half out of them.
