After their first appearance some seasons ago, the Hairy-footed flower bee (Anthophora plumipes) is transforming into a regular garden resident. Besides a male visiting flowers, two females were actively excavating short predrilled corridors that I had added so the clay nest block would be more attractive to nesting hymenoptera. It is unclear whether they have established nests. At first each used its own drill hole, but eventually they shared the same.
