While playing with the cat near the bee hotels in the garden I saw this Sharp tailed bee male crawling on the garden tiles. Its left forewing has not been properly developed making flight impossible. He’s very fresh so probably crawled from a host nest in the bee hotel. Without genitals [Nieuwenhuijsen & Peeters 2015] it is impossible to determine the species, maybe that will follow since he accompanies me now in a terrarium on my desk. Probably it is either C. inermis or C. elongata since both species’ females have visited the garden in previous years.
