In the period of 19 August until 6 September the garden was visited by a very rare introduced species, the Grass carrying wasp (Isodontia mexicana) [1].
In that period the female constructed seven nests in bee hotel nesting blocks 2 and 10, respectively seven in bamboo stems and one in a borehole in stone, that were provisioned with bush crickets among them male Southern oak bush crickets ♂︎ (Meconema meridionale).
The observation is subject of the publication Observations on nest construction and behaviour of sphecid wasp Isodontia mexicana (Hymenoptera: Sphecidae) nesting in Zuid-Holland
