The compact screens of flowers of Cushion spurge (Euphorbia epithymoides) are visited by a wide range of orders; often they are smaller species. This new garden species, a smaller, colourful and hairy beetle, a female Green malachite beetle (Malachius bipustulatus), regularly visited the flowers to eat full on pollen and nectar. The oddly shaped first antennal segments are even more grotesquely shaped and light coloured in the male.
