Grammoptera ruficornis [1], a small species of Longhorn beetle, has a clear preference for simple open flowers regardsless of the size. Every year many specimen can be found on the small flowers of the Firethorn or, like here, on the large flowers of the Japanese rose (Rosa rugosa).
