This 3mm long diggerwasp walked around on a window inside the house. It is a female Spilomena beata ^[1] a new garden species! I had caught her in a pot for identification but unfortunately she died not long after. My trackrecord with very small diggerwasps, like Spilomena and Nitela, in not good. Up til now most of them died in advance of or during the photo session, possibly by a combination of stress and fatigue? Isuspect they need moisture sooner than their larger family members as well.
