Recently I observed a Trumpet vine (Campsis radicans) in Italy covered by many different foraging wasp families, among others Gasteruptiidae and Eumeninae like Ancistrocerus . This contrasted with the plant in our garden which attracts only the genera Vespula and Polistes. Because of that observation I’ve given our plant a bit more attention hoping that the other families went unnoticed before, but unfortunately the groups remain limited those two genera for now like these two females of the Common wasp (Vespula vulgaris) [1] licking nectar on the flower buds.
