One of the Fennel plants that were added to the garden last season is doing well judging by its enormous bulk. It is a beacon for insects that gather on her flower platforms to enjoy a drink of nectar or, in the case of the Swallowtail larvae, the leaves. Among the nectar drinkers are many wasp species, like this male Symmorphus gracilis [1].
