This year the Orange tip (Anthocharis cardamines) [1] has found the garden immediately.
I find it rather funny since last year was only the first time the species appeared after a luring program spanning a few years, and now it immediately appears in the first wave of butterflies. How did he know the garden existed? The species naturally occurs about 1 km away, see here. Only a small clutch of Mustard garlic is already developed and flowering which, in contrast to the many blooming plants throughout the garden in previous seasons, will have a much smaller smell footprint.
The wonders of nature… but I’m not complaining, it remains a beautiful and cheerful butterfly.
