Ectemnius cavifrons ♀︎

Last update: 27 January 2021

This in rather large female Ectemnius cavifrons [1,2,3] appeared suddenly at the bee hotels. Contrary to the males the females do not use bee hotels [4], so I was somewhat surprised and curious to what she would do next.
After flying up and down the bee hotel she descended into the plants where I could snap this photograph.
