A new garden species, a female Auplopus carbonarius ^[1,3]. It is a common wasp in the Netherlands ^[2].

The species is identifiable by ^[3]:

• the inner eye edges bent slightly towards each other
• shin 3 has thorns of equal length and equally spaced
• front wing discoidal cell 2 without sag
• frontside pronotum rounded
• first abdominal segment petiolate
• abdominal segments black
