A new garden species, a female Auplopus carbonarius [1,3]. It is a common wasp in the Netherlands [2].

The species is identifiable by [3]:
- the inner eye edges bent slightly towards each other
- shin 3 has thorns of equal length and equally spaced
- front wing discoidal cell 2 without sag
- frontside pronotum rounded
- first abdominal segment petiolate
- abdominal segments black
