A Sweat bee male foraging for nectar on Giant goldenrod (Solidago gigantea).
Unfortunately the photographs were too bad to determine the species. There are a number of completely black Lasioglossum species that resemble it, a.o.:
- L. sabulosum
- L. lucidulum
- L. minutissimum
- L. semilucens
