Leafcutter bee males are present in larger numbers in the garden. They enjoy the sun resting on walls, stones and tiles whilst on the lookout for females.

These males can be one of the following species [1]:

  • M. ericetorum 
  • Patchwork leafcutter bee ( M. centuncularis )
  • M. versicolor

All three species visit the garden and the beehotels.
