Pimpla turionellae ^{[Soortenregister]} is een algemene wesp die verspreid over Nederland voorkomt ^{[Waarneming.nl]}.

2.1. ACTIVITEIT

De soort is actief van mei tot oktober ^{[Fitton et al. 1988]}.

2.2. ONTWIKKELING

De soort heeft twee generaties per jaar ^{[Fitton et al. 1988]} en overwinterd wellicht soms als volwassen ^{[Fitton et al. 1988]}.

 

3. PARASITAIRE RELATIES

P. turionellae is een idiobionte endoparasitoïde ^{[Uçkan et al. 2004]} op vlinders en motten en jaagt op kleinere to middel-grote poppen, in cocons en soms blootliggend, uit de volgende in Nederland voorkomende soorten ^{[Soortenregister]}:

Zelf heb ik de soort gezien op een nest Appelstippelmot (Yponomeuta malinellus), zie hier.

4. IDENTIFICATIE

Het is een middelgrote wesp.

 

Kenmerken van het genus ^{[Broad 2011],[Fitton et al. 1988]}:

1. Voorvleugel ader 2m-cu met twee bulla
2. Voorvleugel ader 3rs-m aanwezig, niet gepigmenteerd

3. Ovipositor recht

4. Achter tarsus segment 2 ongeveer even lang als segment 5

5. Gezicht zwart
6. Ogen zwak concaaf net boven antenne sokkel

7. Antennen slank
8. Antennen niet subclavaat (beetje knotsvormig), vaak aan einde verdund

8. Antenne vlag segment 2 minstens 3x langer dan breed

 

Kenmerken van de soort ^{[Fitton et al. 1988]}:

Vrouwtjes

1. Achter coxa zwart

2. Gezicht zwart met lichte haren, witachtig of soms licht geel

3. Afstand tussen achterste ocelli ~2x groter dan afstand ocelle naar oogrand

4. Mesopleuron centraal dicht gepunctueerd, ruimte tussen putjes ongeveer de diameter van de put

5. Pronotum met gele streep op de achter hoek

6. Lengte verhouding ovipositor : achter tibia = 0.9 – 1.1

 

Mannetjes

1. Gezicht zwart met witachtige haren

2. Ruimte tussen ocelli ongeveer 2x de afstand tussen ocelle en binnenrand oog
