Uncommon

LOCATION: Krimpen aan den IJssel, garden

The garden does not contain any box trees but the Box tree moth still paid it a visit once this year. Previous years there were more specimen.
It’s funny that this invasive little beast from Asia causes so much headaches for many garden owning households in the Netherlands. Just get rid of that boring tree from your garden and problem solved 😂

It appears the presence of the moth is declining, among other reasons because after the previous years more and more box trees are being replaced: NatureToday: Is de Buxusmot op haar retour?

This year there was another specimen. Both years they were hiding on the underside of a Rhodondendron leaf.
