This for me unknown ladybird was resting on the window and stood out by the somewhat flat broad shape. It is the Pine ladybird (Exochomus quadripustulatus) [1].

A new garden species!

Is is a common species in the Netherlands, and recognizeable by [1]:

  1. the round shape
  2. the broad side edges of the wingcovers
  3. two spots per wingcover
  4. forward spot is comma shaped

What struck me too was the somewhat dull matt shine of its body.
