This for me unknown ladybird was resting on the window and stood out by the somewhat flat broad shape. It is the Pine ladybird (Exochomus quadripustulatus) [1].
A new garden species!
Is is a common species in the Netherlands, and recognizeable by [1]:
- the round shape
- the broad side edges of the wingcovers
- two spots per wingcover
- forward spot is comma shaped
What struck me too was the somewhat dull matt shine of its body.
