By coincidence I encountered this moth. There were three of them in the pond on Water mint (Mentha aquatica). It is the Small magpie (Anania hortulata), an alluring species that I spotted in the garden for the first time.

The moths sat at the bottom of the plant leafs. During photographing the individual in the photo I’d disturbed it after which it landed a little further on the stalk.
